We can’t help but get into the Christmas spirit with our crowded diary of events during December. The performances are great fun and we really enjoy spending time with each other before and after the events. Redland Rhapsody Chorus girls know how to party. Saturday 1st December ![]() Our first big event is Redland City Council’s “Christmas by Starlight” at Cleveland Showgrounds on Saturday December 1st. After being rained off two years in a row, the show will be undercover this year. The star (apart from us!!) will be soprano Mirusia Louwerse, who for five years toured internationally with Andre Rieu’s orchestra. Mirusia was brought up in The Redlands and is an “old girl” of Ormiston College. In 2006 She was the youngest ever winner of the prestigious "Dame Joan Sutherland Opera Award". This will be an evening not to missed. Thursday 6th December We and others perform Christmas songs around the huge Christmas Tree in Brisbane City Mall. A great evening of singing and music as part of Brisbane City Council’s “Christmas In The City” celebrations. 13th – 24th December Carol singing at Victoria Point Shopping Centre. Redland Rhapsody Chorus is invited back year after year as everyone loves to see us perform carols in the Centre and have the kids join in with old favourites such as “Jingle Bells” and “Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer”. Real singers, not endless piped music. 14th – 23rd December We are proud to again be part of Brisbane City Council’s “Christmas In The City” parades which take place in Brisbane CBD every evening from 7pm commencing Friday 14 th December. We guide Santa and assorted dancers, musicians and real live reindeer and camels through the city, ending in St. George Square. |
