A lucky last-minute cancellation provided the opportunity for a small group of Redland Rhapsody Chorus members to attend the much-loved Kalbar Sunflower Festival – an event typically booked out six months in advance!
Thanks to Marketing Coordinator Carol Baker, who also works with Tash Maree Tours & Travel (https://www.tashmareetravel.com/), we were able to secure a rare spot on one of the sought-after tours. What followed was a joyful day immersed in spectacular scenery. We enjoyed wandering among the towering sunflower fields and snipping a few golden beauties to take home. The festival’s unique art installations and the vibrant market stalls added a burst of colour and creativity to the experience, with plenty of opportunities to soak up the atmosphere – and snap a few memorable photos!
On the way home, we took a detour and stopped at the Summer Land Camel Farm, where we got up close and personal with some friendly camels and even sampled a scoop (or two!) of camel milk ice cream.
Finally back at our meeting place – the Alex Hills Hotel – a few of us took the opportunity for a welldeserved glass of something cold 🙂
The day was a perfect blend of sunshine, song, and spontaneous adventure—proving that sometimes, the best moments come from the unexpected.
